Deadlines

The expected review process is based on the review type required for the submitted research proposal by the IRB:

‘Exempt’ proposals – a minimum of two weeks;
‘Expedited’ proposals – a minimum of three weeks;
‘Full-Board’ proposals – must be electronically submitted to the IRB a minimum of two weeks prior to the next occurring scheduled IRB meeting. Duration of the review process will vary according to the specifics of the research proposal.

During the summer months, the IRB will continue to review expedited and exempt studies each week. The IRB will also meet one time in late July to review any full-board applications that are submitted after the end of the spring semester.

Meeting Location

IRB meetings are held in Trenton Hall in Room #206 from 1:30-2:50. IRB meetings are open, and all are welcome to attend. PIs are encouraged to attend IRB meetings where their study is to be reviewed, as their participation in answering questions often facilitates the process.
